Architectural & Design Services
Each project that Alison undertakes is tailor-made to the client’s individual needs. Usually there is phone or email contact to enable Alison and the client to discuss whether an initial meeting is appropriate. To help start the design process, Alison will often ask the client to prepare a wish-list which roots the client in the project, helps them to identify what they want, and also makes them weigh up what works and what doesn’t work about the property.
After an initial meeting with the client at the property, Alison will prepare a fee proposal which will typically include the following:
As a way of illustrating some of the more complex design solutions, Alison may suggest commissioning a 3D digital model. This can help the client to understand the interior spaces and the model can provide a walk through video which allows clients to visualise how the spaces will work. The 3D model can also be used to help choose finishes, colours and textures for their project. Examples of these models can be provided on application.
Once into the design process, Alison can introduce the client to local contractors and suppliers. Equally, she is happy to work with the client’s own contractor and suppliers.
If you are interested in a Design Build approach to your project, this is something that Alison offers in conjunction with John Page. Please see here.

After an initial meeting with the client at the property, Alison will prepare a fee proposal which will typically include the following:
- a measured survey of the property.
- development of the brief with the client.
- preparation of scheme design with options, if appropriate.
- preparation and submission of applications for planning approval, listed building consent and Conservation Area consent, as required.
